Position:  Firefighter/EMT-P
Starting Salary Range: Minimum $50,916 – Maximum $67,002 annually, DOQ. (Based on 2756 FLSA Hours)  Scheduled overtime hours paid at 1.5 hourly rate when actual hours worked exceed 159 hours in a 21-day cycle.

The Midlothian Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter/EMT-P.  Applications are being accepted to fill new budgeted positions.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED and meet one of the following options:

·      Option 1- State of Texas certified as a Basic Firefighter and State of Texas certified as at least an EMT-P.


·         Option 2- State of Texas certified as an EMT-P at the time of application.  Applicants certified as EMT-P but without Basic Firefighter certification must become Fire certified within the first year of employment.

·         Option 3- State of Texas certified as a Basic Firefighter and State of Texas certified as at least an EMT-B.


Preference will be given to applicants possessing both a State of Texas Basic Firefighter and State of Texas EMT-P certification at the time of hire. Applicants who are enrolled in a Recruit Academy, EMT School or EMT-P School may apply as long as they can meet one of the certification qualification options listed by December 1, 2018.  

The first phase of the hiring process will begin when the City receives a reasonable amount of qualified applicants. Applications will be accepted until the position/positions are filled.
